My Paper-Journey
My name is Hilli Zenz. I was born in the south of Germany, at the foot of the mountains.
Paper as a material fascinated me since childhood - a small step towards Origami.
Somehow I ended up working as a banker - banknotes are foldable as well.
Colors and paper have always been a part of my life, and so I began drawing, producing icons behind glass, and using watercolor until I ended up etching - the supreme discipline.
I assisted in an etching studio and accompanied artists during their drawing process.
Furthermore, I was able to present my works which were results of etching, drawing, and Origami at numerous exhibitions.
Designing paper by using various drawing and printing techniques
and discovering its beauty, aesthetics, and changeability is my passion.
In 2009 I began producing unique kinds of paper specifically designed for Origami
which impressed people at many conventions in Germany and other countries.
It is a special pleasure seeing works folded out of my own paper.
