Every year, eight artists in various fields of origami will be awarded for their outstanding achievements in the last year.
The awards are:
Two fields:
What is art? There is no accepted definition to this term, and still, the MOMA keeps a million objects that answer to some criteria in its storage rooms. This award will be given to the most expressive work of art that does not just try to imitate a figure, but to convey a message, tell a story, and achieve artistic heights.
Boundaries are meant to break. This award is for an artist who expands the barriers of the technique with exceptional results.
For outstanding sequences, pushing the limits while keeping both an incredible elegance and folding pleasure.
Like with music, the performance is as important as the score. This award will be given to a folder that executed a model beyond just following the diagrams.
CfC members will select the top 10 in each award.
Our judges will select from them the winners!
We picked some of the best creators and folders from all over the world!
